Riba-roja d'Ebre has a wealth of history dating from 1163 when it was mentioned in documents. Click here for more detailed historical information. It has at times suffered periods of turmoil but the Catalans have kept their enduring cheerful attitude and their love of fiesta. We will be adding events timetable once prepared by the adjuntament but Fiesta week in August is something not to be missed. We can arrange guided sightseeing tours to sites of special interest.
We have been based in the beautiful village of Riba-roja d'Ebre for the last eight years. Our village is in the mountains of Catalunya alongside the mighty Ebre river which is renowned throughout Europe as one of the finest fishing venues for the awesome Wels Catfish and enormous Carp. During this time we have made friends with; expert fishing guides, friendly bar owners and restaurateurs, accommodating hoteliers and many, many friendly Catalans.
There is an excellent swimming pool in the village with a large pool and a smaller toddlers pool, see the videos farther down this page. This is open for a 12 week period, end of June to start of September
The high spot of the Summer season has to be Fiesta Major end of August, a week full of entertainment culminating in Devil's night. Videos available within this web site. Please contact us for more information.
